Peace for Clarinet and Piano
⌊ Composition for jazz orchestra.
This piece was constructed around an ostinato figure which consists of descending and ascending chromatic lines spanning a tritone. Increasing and decreasing rhythmic values are used to create the effect of temporal expansion and contraction. The dynamic and registral capacity of the clarinet is exploited in order to provide instrumental colour for the piece.
